Caith and Tara sit a few feet away while the young Katrina wobbily walks back and forth between her fawning parents until she falls into Caith's open arms and clings until she falls asleep. *cuteness. I needed it.* Caith smiles as he brings his youngest daughter to her crib, then comes back to sit behind his wife and love on her. "You know, love... I think this is about as happy as I could be, right now..."
"I know the feeling."
"Liona's safe, not taking too many big risks, and actually taking her classes seriously, Katrina's here, getting stronger and happier with every amazing step..."
Tara's smile fades slightly... "So what happens when your father comes back, or... doesn't... and Liona decides it's time to follow in his footsteps?"
"We do what we can to stop her, and protect Conall..." he sighs deeply. "Not that that's much..." he runs his fingers through her hair. "They're gonna do what they're gonna do, though I think we might be able to at least keep Connall safe through a little help from Jason..."
"Jason? Really? You're puttting faith in him, now?"
"He seems to want happiness for his son."
Her smile strenthens a bit. "Good to know."
He nods. "Yep. and he wants to keep Liona safe... which means he'll protect her, and try to keep her out of danger as much as he can..."
"Not that he can."
"No one can, really... she's more headstrong then Dad..."
"Just as bad as you are."
"Hey, now..."
"You know it's true."
