There were three gardens. The first, Garden A, contained nothing more than the herbs used in the school's Potions classes. Garden B, encased by a huge dome of glass and metal, was for the first through third years, containing things no more harmless than mandrakes and one very ill-tempered Venemous Tentacula which, if you got too close to it, would lunge at you in an attempt to de-pants you in front of your classmates. But it was Garden C, right near the shelter of the forest, where Jesse found himself after leaving the woods. He sat, quiet and examining his hands, by the Wimpled Snapdragon (fouler even than the Tentacula, the Wimpled Snapdragon would breathe balls of long-lasting blue flame at anyone it didn't like. It was the closest to Everlasting Fire that the plant world had ever gotten).

Caith finds himself wandering into Garden C, unplanned, simply having an instinct telling him to look around. He sighs when he sees Jesse, realizing his instincts were still wanting to talk with the boy, though he had no idea what to say. ~It's not as if I can stop him... or dad... What exactly am I gonna do?~

Footsteps? The Wimpled Snapdragon clicked its leaves together and lifted its bell-shaped flowers, petals opening and closing in a rather menacing way. Jesse, too, looked up, peering through the dense shrubbery at...Caith? "What are you doing here?" A fair question, seeing as how Garden C was full of odd and dangerous plants, from the Snapdragon to that patch of Flesh-Eating Rue just down the way. Jesse set his hand down on the ground amid a patch of Water Hemlock, leaning through the Snapdragon (which purred, and rubbed suggestively against his cheek).

"I'm here mostly out of instinct, though I come here a bit often in order to check out the medicinal plants... what're oudoing here? You are still a student, and this is a rather dangerous place to hang out." ~Not that dangerous things seem to bother you...~

He rolled one shoulder. The Snapdragon, meanwhile, appeared to be trying to kiss his neck, but, being a plant, it was met with little success. "I like it out here. It's quiet. Peaceful." Like that spot in the woods...But now, Tom knew about that place, and it wouldn't feel right for a long, long time. He reached up and patted one of the Snapdragon's bell-shaped flowers, and it made a soft, clicking squeak. "Watch out for that Creeper, sir." And, indeed, there was a large ball of what seemed to be living, writhing vines inching its way stealthily towards Caith's feet.

He nods, moving out of it's way, knowing it was coming. "Thanks... it does tend to be rather private here..."

The Creeper made a disappointed noise, slinking away through the patches of herbs and tangled vines. It was like a miniature jungle out here. "Hm." Noncommittal. And then..."What did you mean by 'instinct'? Is there something happening up at the school?" There was an obvious, but unspoken, 'or down here' that should have been added to the end of that sentence.

He shakes his head. "No, nothing of great consequence, anyway. I never really know what my instincts want from me."

"...Neither do I." And this was quite an admission, coming from Jesse. He carefully raised himself up, crawling through the Snapdragon in order to kneel in front of Caith. There was a long, slender vine twining itself around his neck. It appeared to descend down from the trees above. "...What do you *think* they want from you, though?"

((around jesse's neck, or caith's?)) He sighs. "Now that I'm here, I have a feeling they want me to talk with you..."

((Jesse's. XD))
He laughed, bubbling and fey. "Who, the plants? They don't think much of anything. Well...Beyond making me stay, that is. They rather like me, I think. Kindred spirit and all that. Dangerous, but useful." Another laugh, slower, bitter. It trailed away into nothing, and Jesse absently lifted a hand to his neck. The vine that had settled there seemed to lift and twine around his arching finger.

"Not the plants, you. I don't speak with plants very often... at least not when other people are around. There are enough people that want to lock me up without giving them reasons to think I'm insane."

Another shrug of the shoulder. "Can't blame you, sir. Azkaban isn't nice. Very dirty, very dark." He tugged at the vine and it released his finger almost immediately, retreating from his neck and settling like a snake around his shoulders. "You aren't insane, though. You aren't dark. I can't imagine why someone would want to lock you up." Besides the obvious reason, of course. "What do you want to talk about, then?"

He shrugs. "This conversation seems fine with me." He looks to the vine around jesse's shoulder, his expression a bit blank. "I don't have complete control over myself, apparently, so technically, I am insane, and I was dark at one time."
